Very good day. Four Regularity Stages report. Our scores were 0 (perfect); 0 (perfect); 2 seconds off (good); and 1 second off (very good). Results will come out later and we’ll see if we made any progress in the standings.
Much more important was the drive today. Our morning drive was as pretty a drive and the first time I've taken it . We drove through valleys bathed in the morning sun. The caps of all the mountains still had a thick layer of snow. Hard to believe that paradise could be prettier.
The drive was about 320 km, but all the mountain roads were smooth and in good shape. Lunch was at a fabulous bistro that served too much good food….steak, chicken, sausage, and lamb.
I think the best part of the rally is the people you meet. I’ve taken a liking to Rob, from Kenya, who drives this overpowered Ford Mustang. Funny fellow with great stories. He only wants us to bring our car and do an African Car Rally in Kenya….. so much to do, and so little time.
If I get today’s rally results, I’ll try to include them later.
Tomorrow's schedule has three speed tests and three regularities…..so it will be another long day.
Finally, the Spanish people are terrific. Polite; helpful and enthusiastic about the cars.
